San Jose, CA January 1, 2002 - Digital Turbulence announces the premiere screening of its award-winning children's technology program, "Tech Knowledge." The show will be unveiled on Saturday, January 19th, 2002 at the Stanford University School of Education's Cubberly Theater. The event begins at 8 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Bay Area native and Los Altos Hills resident Douglas DeVore produced and directed the pilot episode, which recently won 2 Joey awards from the San Jose Film & Video Commission in the categories of Entertainment Program and Short Subject. DeVore is the director of the series "Mark Kistler's Imagination Station," an award-winning educational children's series shown nationally on PBS member stations.
"Tech Knowledge" features a collection of zany, live-action characters that discover and explore science and technology through fast-paced, entertaining sketches.
But computers and high-tech equipment aren't the only focus. "Tech Knowledge" points out the amazing technology behind everyday items, describes the bizarre events that lead to unintended inventions, and uncovers the unexpected role of technology in areas like sports and music.
